LEWISTON MAYOR TOURS OPEN HOUSE FOR NEW GROUP HOME

LEWISTON, Maine (August 4, 2011) – Lewiston Mayor Laurent F. Gilbert Sr. helped Community Partners, Inc. (CPI) celebrate a new licensed group home for adults with developmental disabilities. The new single story home, designed with a large open living space and sun porch, is on the site adjacent to CPI’s12-bed nursing home on Old Lisbon Road.

According to Rory Robb, Director of Clinical Services for CPI, “We are very excited about a new accessible permanent home for the people we support in Lewiston. The new energy-efficient home replaces the three rentals, which will reduce our utility and staffing overhead, and also ensure long term control over housing costs.”

Architect Stephen Fraser of Scott Simons Architects, along with John Blanchard, Jonathan Blanchard, and David Cushman of H. E. Callahan Construction, also came for the celebration. The Bangor Savings Bank Foundation awarded CPI a $3,000 grant to fund computer and information technology installation at Lewiston Ridge.

A 501(c)3 non-profit, CPI has been providing direct support services to adults with developmental disabilities since 1967. Individuals are supported residentially with a variety of housing options, ranging from supported independent living to licensed facilities in communities throughout York, Cumberland, Androscoggin and Kennebec Counties.
