SPECIAL OLYMPICS
At Community Partners, Inc. we believe people with developmental disabilities can enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports. We encourage and support individuals and coaches to participate in the Maine summer and winter Special Olympics.
Special Olympics is founded on the belief that people with intellectual disabilities can, with proper instruction and encouragement, learn, enjoy and benefit from participation in individual and team sports, adapted as necessary to meet the needs of those with special limitations.
Most of the expenses associated with organizing, transporting, lodging and coaching our athletes are paid for with fundraisers, including bake sales, craft fairs, spaghetti dinners, corporate sponsors, and individual sponsorship requests.
